New venue for weddings in Blackpool. Building started and will be ready for the 1st wedding in 2011.

 

Blackpool wedding chapel at the Tower Festival Headland, Blackpool. This building provides a perfect wedding venue for any couple getting married in Blackpool, as well as an amazing focal point for visitors.

The wedding chapel is built from solid timber and clad in gold coloured stainless steel shingles. Blackpool wedding tower will feature dramatic picture windows to enable visitors, and couples exchanging vows, the chance to enjoy summer sun or the winter illuminations.

Blackpool wedding chapel will be ready fior the 1st wedding in early this year (2011), and will also have a rooftop terrace and a restaurant. The original plans were adapted to include larger window space allowing more light to flow throughout the structure – creating stunning views over the shoreline.

People can only book ceremonies at Blackpool wedding chapel 12 months in advance, but Blackpool's superintendent registrar David Hill said there was already interest from couples in the new venue.

He said: "If anyone does contact us showing interest, we will take details of couples and then try to work out who would be first to get married there.

"We are hoping it will be one of the nicest venues in the country, and we are looking to attract couples from throughout England and Wales."

Soon you will be able to get married in a Las Vegas type wedding chapel on Blackpool promenade.

The chapel is only part of the £14m Blackpool Tower Festival Headland's which will create a 20,000 people capacity arena. We at Blackpool wedding cars will be attending many weddings in 2011 & 2012 at the chapel, so book your wedding car well in advance as were expecting a waiting list....

The regeneration company, ReBlackpool, has now been granted permission to build the wedding venue by Blackpool council.

Couples getting married will have a view of the resort through a large picture window inside.

The 3 storey building will includes a ceremonial hall and registrar office.

Holiday romance

A beach cafe and tourist info centre will also be on the complex.

Doug Garrett, chief executive of ReBlackpool, said: "Many marriages will have started with a holiday romance in Blackpool, so we're continuing that tradition in a very modern setting.

"The innovative building design will be a stunning addition to the landscape, and construction has been planned to reduce carbon emissions, so we're bringing more fun to Blackpool responsibly."

The headland space forms part of a £92m redevelopment of the central seafront, which also includes new sea walls and a promenade.

The chapel foundations are now in place and it seems from a very busy oneway promanade that the 1st floor of the wedding chapel is now up!. The Blackpool Wedding Chapel could well be up and open before the end of 2011.
